    According to the latest modeling available from the Bureau of Meteorology, the expected weather forecast for today, Friday 18 August 2017, and tomorrow, Saturday 19 August 2017, is a very high fire danger and an increased risk of bushfires across South East Queensland. Sunday 20 August 2017 and Monday 21 August 2017 also has a high fire danger alert.

    We urge all visitors to play it safe when visiting our dams, lakes and parks, particularly when travelling through bushfire prone areas.

  • Lake Samsonvale - McGavin View BBQs out of order

    Various BBQs in the McGavin View day use area Vores Road Whiteside are temporarily out of order.
    Signage is in place on the effected BBQs which will be made available for use as soon as the problem is rectified.

    Alternate facilities are available at Bullocky Rest day use area Forgan Road Joyner.

  • Seqwater taps into educational fun at this year’s Ekka

    If you have visited the Ekka, you could be forgiven for thinking the rides, showbags and strawberry sundaes were still the biggest draw cards at the show.

    However more and more visitors are being drawn to the Agriculture Pavilion, where a stand run by South East Queensland bulk water supplier Seqwater is gaining a reputation for its fun and unique educational displays.

  • Infrastructure upgrades at Sparkes Hill Reservoirs, Stafford

    Seqwater will be conducting bulk water pipeline maintenance at the Sparkes Hill Reservoirs in Stafford starting Thursday 3 August 2017 as part of critical infrastructure upgrades.

    Contractors will be accessing the area to modify underground pipes within the reservoir grounds. Standard working hours will be between 7am and 5pm for about six weeks, however night works will be required at times.

    Seqwater will be conducting essential bulk water pipeline maintenance in Enoggera on Wednesday 9 August and Thursday 10 August 2017, subject to weather conditions and other unexpected delays.

    Contractors will be working on Samford Road and Bond Street, Enoggera between 5pm and 6am to minimise local traffic impacts. We will attempt to minimise noise and other disruptions where possible during this period.

  • Maroon Dam - Slater Park shoreline works

    Visitors are advised to exercise caution along the shoreline at Slater Park where undermining and some erosion of the bank is evident.
    The affected area has been cordoned off and signage placed at the site.
    In the interest of public safety all visitors are requested to please observe the direction of staff and signage while rectification works are completed.

  • Upcoming night works near Aspley Reservoir

    We will be modifying underground pipelines from Tuesday 8 August 2017 as part of infrastructure upgrades at the Aspley Reservoir.

    The work will involve cutting into existing pipes and laying new ones to help us move water from the south of Brisbane to the northern region.

    Night works will be conducted within the reservoir grounds off Lawrence Road on Tuesday 8 August, subject to weather conditions and other unexpected delays. To minimise risks to water supply, work will start at 3am and may take up to 36 hours to complete.
